A Ginetta G55 For IDL

And A Full Season For Sharp & White.

Having contested a GTC Ginetta G55 at the Nürburgring round of the 2012 British GT Championship, Colin White’s CWS has teamed up with fellow Ginetta Supercup entrants IDL Racing and will enter a GT3 version of the car for the full 2013 season. White will be joined in the car by BRDC Rising Star Tom Sharp, with the team being known as ‘IDL Racing with CWS’.

“Racing last season in the British GT at the Nürburgring and winning our class in the G55 cup car gave me the desire for the outright GT3 win,” said White.

“The obvious progression is to a Ginetta GT3 car with the latest upgrades. Having a very competitive team mate with similar aspirations makes IDL and CWS a winning combination.”

“It was good to get the chance to test the car with the added ABS and traction control it’s come a long way since I raced it at the end of 2011 and I’m confident it will give us the opportunity to compete for race wins,” said Sharp, who joined Andrew Jordan in the then-upgraded G55 at the 2011 season finalé at Silverstone and has recently tested the 2013 car at Donington.

“Both Tom and Colin have shown what they are capable of over the last few years competing in Ginetta’s and together in a not to dissimilar car they should be a very strong pair,” said Team Principal David Sharp.

This is the second GT3 Ginetta entry for 2013 and means Sharp and White will be going up against Ginetta Chairman Lawrence Tomlinson and Richard Sykes in their works entry; “It’s great to see Tom and Colin progressing up the Ginetta racing ladder into the British GT with one of our cars,” said Tomlinson. “They have both enjoyed success in the Ginetta championships and have been great ambassadors for Ginetta with 12 years of experience between them. I’m sure they will come out challenging from the start and I look forward to racing against them.”
