Some of our readers might have noticed it already on the Blancpain Endurance Series entry list for Paul Ricard, but reigning British GT4 champion Jody Fannin will be racing the JMB Racing Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 this weekend in the south of France. The 19-year-old from Chertsey, Surrey will join team principal Nicolas Misslin and Nicolas Marroc at JMB Racing’s home circuit.
JMB Racing recently acquired a Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 for the French GT Tour Championship and has now confirmed it will race at Paul Ricard as well as the Blancpain Endurance Series season finale at the Nürburgring in September. “Blancpain is the pinnacle of GT racing in Europe and we are delighted to be tackling the next rounds with the Nissan,” said Nicolas Misslin. “We still have a lot to learn about the car but it is user friendly and with Jody on board we can start to progress.”
Fannin raced the JRM Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 at the first round of the Avon Tyres British GT Championship at Oulton Park and has been in touch with the team ever since. “Since Oulton, I’ve shadowed the JRM team, putting in the time with the race engineers and drivers to learn more about the car,” said Fannin. “JMB is a world championship winning team. To debut with them at its home track is pretty special.”
With the addition of the JMB Racing Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 there will be five Nissans racing in the Blancpain Endurance Series at Paul Ricard this weekend. The other cars are entered by Nissan GT Academy Team RJN and JRM.
