Having suffered the disappointment of a first-day exit from this year’s Tour Britannia, Stuart Scott will be wheeling out the CBT Racing Chevrolet Camaro once again this weekend as he and Steve Wood try to expunge that memory with a crack at the Mini Britannia, which takes place this Saturday.
Again featuring Regularity and Competition classes, the one-day event begins at Battersea before tackling stages (two runs at each for the Competition class, which contains the Camaro) at Brooklands, Dunsfold Park, Farnborough Airport and Jody Scheckter’s Laverstoke farm Park, before heading back to London via Windsor Castle. Spectators are welcome at various points on the route.
The ex-Richard Lloyd Camaro has enjoyed a complete overhaul in the hands of Mike Jordan since May – gearbox, rear axle and suspension being just some of the areas to have benefitted – while tuner Peter Knight has squeezed a few more horses out of the engine. These will be needed, as the competition includes the Porsche 911 of the winner of the last two Tours, Phil Hindley.
