This just in from Nicolas Perrin.
“I am delighted to introduce Brazil Le Mans Team.
“This project is planning to use our open source LMP1 in the near future at Le Mans 24H. We actively support this initiative from people in Brazil that are part of the Perrinn Team.”
The effort is focussed around Patrick Choate, a Brazilian businessman who, until recently, owned a major Brazilian composites company.
“We started to talk seriously about they 2-3 months ago,” said Nic Perrin to DSC today, “It’s early days of course but it is clear that the open source model we have is exactly what the Brazilian were looking for in putting together a Le Mans programme.
“We are, realistically, aiming to get the programme moving for a Le Mans (and therefore WEC) entry for 2016 subject of course to the correct budget and funding being in place.”
An interesting and unexpected step forward for the Perrinn team.
