A rather topsy turvy session saw the two Black Falcon cars top the times early on as they, and the two next fastest cars, were all warned for track limits violations.
The best lap by far so far from a McLaren soon saw Alvaro Parente pop up second fastest (2:12.0), but then it seemed to be Ferrari time as first Marco Cioci (#4) and then Michele Rugolo (#3), topped the times with the first sub 2:11 laps of the meeting, Rugolo’s 2:10.841 six hundredths better than Cioci’s mark with the #3 car then popping in a 2:10.902 for good measure!
There was no sign in the first part of the session of either the #10 GT Russian Mercedes or the #60 McLaren (problem with an ‘O’ ring in the fuelling system). Peter Kox though emerged with 24 minutes of the session remaining.
All of that clearly stirred the blood of Ivan Bellarosa who emerged in the #45 Wolf but could do no better than third with a 2:11.1.
The later stages of the session saw few significant improvements aside from a run up to fourth fastest from the #11 Kessel Ferrari, Frezza into the 2:11s
