With the factory backed efforts at Dubai and, in just three week’s time, at Bathurst, it’s already been a good time to be a Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 fan, but there are rumblings afoot that might see rather more reason to.
Whilst the mooted Comtek/ Virtuosi effort for Blancpain Sprint has gone very quiet, a team insider confirming to DSC that the effort will not now go forward, there look to be several other projects that might soon get the green light.
We’ve already written about the prospect of Nissan joining the Pirelli World Challenge grid, that programme is now very close to formal confirmation for a full season, multi-car effort with an as yet unannounced team.
In Europe our German correspondent has spotted some social media traffic suggesting that the MRS GT squad may be about to announce an effort in the ADAC GT Masters with new GT-R GT3s too.
There might yet be some news to come from the Blancpain Endurance Series too and we’ve yet to hear what the plans might be for Bob Neville’s RJN Motorsport effort for the 2015 season.
It seems the heavily upgraded 2015 version of the GT-R has been turning heads, both in performance and commercial terms. It won’t be too long before we see it turning laps!
