Hot on the heels of recent announcements bringing the Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 into the 2015 ADAC GT Masters comes confirmation of a third car for MRS GT-Racing, this time for the full Blancpain GT Series with an all-Professional line-up.
The single car entry for a new 2015 spec Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 will contest both the Blancpain Endurance Series and the Blancpain Sprint Series with 12 races across the continent including the iconic Spa 24 Hours, and street races in both Moscow and Baku, Azerbaijan.
The car will be entered in the Pro-Cup class, the first time that the Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 has featured in the elite all-Pro division.
JRM factory driver Craig Dolby has been announced as lead driver and will be joined by Sean Walkinshaw, the rapid young British driver the latest talented single-seater racer to transfer to the booming GT racing discipline.
Karsten Molitor, Team Owner MRS GT-Racing: “It will be a busy year for the team with GT3 programmes now confirmed both in the ADAC GT Masters and now the full Blancpain GT Series.
“With three new Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3s though, with some very talented young drivers and our very experienced team behind them I’m very confident that we’ll be on the pace immediately.
“The team knows what the required standard is to win at this level and we are more than equal to the task.
Sean Walkinshaw: “This is a great programme in a fantastic Championship and with a really exciting new car.
“There are races within the Series that any professional driver would want to twin, and there are teams and drivers that we all want to beat.
“I couldn’t be more delighted with my decision last year to switch from single seaters to sportscars. The quality of the competition is very high, but the career options moving forward are infinitely better. I just can’t wait to go racing now!
Craig Dolby, JRM Factory Driver: “This is exactly the kind of programme that every Professional racing driver dreams of. A great team, a great car and great races.
“I’m delighted to be part of it, delighted that Sean is joining the effort, and delighted too that together we’ll be able to show drivers and teams in other racing disciplines that in GT3 racing you can race competitively with the very best, with commercial opportunities, and with a clear career track for talented drivers.”
James Walters, Partnership Manager for JRM Group: “This is a very significant programme for both JRM and MRS GT-Racing, it will give us the opportunity to display the capabilities of the 2015 version of the Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 on one of the toughest stages of all.
“The Blancpain GT Series will feature world class teams with world class, factory backed drivers in a huge range of GT3 machinery.
“I’m completely confident that the new car, and the driver squad, will be more than equal to the task.
“JRM will be supplying technical support and spares back-up at the circuits throughout the season not only to MRS GT-Racing but to our other customers too.”
