The 73rd Goodwood Members’ Meeting held earlier this month was a resounding success. Very much the hidden gem of the major events taking place at the venerable Sussex location, the Members’ Meeting has a feeling of intimacy long since lost by the Festival of Speed with its huge crowds and heavy corporate presence. Neither is it confined in the straight-jacket of pre-1966 cars only, as the Revival is. Of course this comes at a price, so the tickets are at Ecclestone levels but the content is absolutely worth it.
Everywhere there is much to see and admire, from Group C racers to the ‘Periscope’ Grand Prix cars of the 70’s to the Tin-Tops and arguably the star of the show, the squadron of McLaren F1 GTRs celebrating the famous victory in 1995 at the Le Mans 24 Hours. All this in the confines of one of the most beautiful circuits in the world, it is automotive heaven.
Don’t miss it in 2016!
