Le Mans 24 Hours Test Day: Paddock & Entry Notes

The first two Nissan GT-R LM NISMOs shook down this afternoon on the Le Mans Aerodrome with Jann Mardenborough trying out both cars in their first live running in the public gaze.

Several cars have additional drivers listed for the Test Day with Fred Makowiecki listed against all three Porsche 919 Hybrids, the factory GT Driver now a nominated LMP1 Reserve Driver. Sven Muller is listed against both LM GTE Pro Porsches and will likely be ready if required.

Kamui Kobayashi is listed against the #1 Toyota as the team wait to hear tomorrow whether the fast healing Kazuki Nakjima is cleared to race.

There are new liveries galore on show this weekend, aside from the red and black LMP1 Porsches and the very well received #21 Nissan in its 1990 ‘tribute’ livery there are new colours aboard the #43 SARD Morand Morgan (Franck Muller), both ESM Ligiers (Rolling Stone Magazine) and the JMW Ferrari.

Gaetan Paletou is set to join Greaves Motorsport for the Test day, we’ll soon see whether the 2014 Nissan GT Academy winner makes the grid for the race proper!

We’ll have to wait for scrutineering next weekend too to see the ‘Art Car’ livery due to race with the #97 LM GTE Pro Aston Martin.

Four of the still five reserve listed cars are set to run at the test, all with full driver line-ups.

The #49 KCMG entered Oreca 03R Judd is the familiar Race Performance car with an unfamiliar driver line up, Christian Klien joins Tomonobu Fujii and Satoshi Hoshino. The car is the first reserve.

The #60 Formula Racing LM GTE Am Ferrari is second reserve and fields Johnny Lursen, Mikkel Mac Jensen and Andrea Rizzoli.

The fourth reserve, the #65 Proton Competition Porsche is not present, or rather it is, as the #68 Team AAI car, the Taiwanese team having reached agreement to use the car for Le Mans.

The final listed reserve is the #44 Ibanez Racing Oreca 03R Nissan with four drivers listed for the Test Day: Yutaka Yamagishi, Pierre Perret, Jose Ibanez and Stephane Raffin.

Team LNT will debut not only the Ginetta Nissan LMP3, but the LMP3 class at the Test, their #74 car will see Lawrence Tomlinson joined by Charlie Robertson and Sir Chris Hoy whilst the #75 car is being utilised to give the Nissan factory Le Mans deutants some valuable additional track time , Max Chilton, Tsugio Matsuda and Alex Buncombe will be joined by Nissan GT Academy North America winner Nick McMillen.
