German media reports this morning suggest that amongst the fall-out from the ongoing VW emissions scandal will be some high profile dismissals from VW Group companies.
In the wake of the resignation earlier this week of VW Group Chairman and CEO Martin Winterkorn, German Newspaper Bild writes that it expects the Supervisory Board, meeting tomorrow, to dismiss Audi’s Board Member for Technical Development Ulrich Hackenberg.
Since July 1, 2013, Hackenberg has been a member of the Board of Management of Audi with responsibility for their technical development. In addition, he is also responsible for the technical development of all the VW Group’s brands.
Bild also reports that Wolfgang Hatz (left), well known to DSC readers as the most senior member of Porsche Management in the WEC pit garage, is also set to be dismissed.
Hatz is the member of Porsche’s Board of Management in charge of Research and Development, and is additionally Head of Engines and Transmissions Development for the Volkswagen Group.
