The tenting for the inaugural 2015/ 2016 Asian Le Mans Series contained an attractive array of 11 cars as DSC arrived this lunchtime at Fuji International Speedway.
Both planned LMP2s are here with the Race Performance Oreca Judd and Eurasia’s Oreca Nissan (this the leased Boutsen Ginion car) with Tristan Gommendy confirmed as third driver after his shock departure from the Thiriet by TDS Racing effort.
LMP3 is set to see two world debuts here with the DC Racing Ligier JSP3 looking splendid this afternoon, the family likeness to the Ligier P2 car very obvious.
This is set to be the first ever race for the new Ligier, though interestingly the David Cheng owned car is actually Chassis number 8!
Due to arrive at the circuit by 4pm are the pair of new Adess 03 LMP3s from Team AAI, again a world debut – Stop Press they are here. More on this story later this evening.
The seven car GT entry is all on site too,, the Clearwater McLaren 650S GT3, a pair of Ferrari GT3s, AAI’s two BMW Z4 GT3s, and pair of Audi R8 LMS plus a Porsche GT Cup entered for KCMG boss Paul Ip
Absolute Racing confirmed to DSC that their #5 Audi will be driven by Alex Young, Jeffrey Lee and Shaun Tong, the team pronouncing themselves very encouraged with the changes made to the new relaunched Series. “We can see ourselves being back at the later races potentially with several more cars.”
