Daytona IMSA Test Notebook, GTLM

There are two Ford GTs at Daytona, one fully liveried car and the other in all over unpainted carbon.

No official news on the driver front but Marshall Pruett reports that the following have been spotted in and around the team’s garage area, some wearing Ford shirts: Joey Hand, Olivier Pla, Marino Franchitti, Dirk Muller, and Richard Westbrook.

Corvette Racing are here with a pair of 2016 spec C7.Rs too, their driver announcements were made this morning with Ricky and Jordan Taylor the third men for Le Mans, Mike Rockefeller and Marcel Fassler for Daytona and Sebring.

All four are at Daytona together with the four confirmed returning full season drivers.

The team arrived here after a test at Sebring.

Defending GTLM champions Porsche North America chose to skip the test due to a scheduling conflict.

A pair of BMW M6s are here too, again one in BMW Racing team livery, the other still in unpainted carbon, It’s the carbon car that’s the GTLM M6, the other is one of two GT3 versions set to be campaigned by Turner Motorsports.

BMW’s newest signing, 2014 GTLM champion Kuno Wittmer, is not driving this week and says he’s already put in six days with the twin-turbo V8 M6 in private testing.
