Jota Sport has announced that it will be running in the FIA WEC under the G-Drive Racing name in 2016. The team’s Oreca will be driven by 2015 LMP2 WEC Champion Roman Rusinov and Nathanaël Berthon, with the third driver set to be announced in the coming weeks.
Jota Sport partner Sam Hignett also confirmed to DSC that Jota’s ELMS Gibson LMP2 entry will run the G-Drive banner too, but with the previously announced driver lineup.
“It will still be Giedo van der Garde and Simon Dolan with Jake Dennis and Harry Tincknell sharing duties in the third seat,” he said.
“The cars will be run as G-Drive Racing from now on. There will be a Jota and Arden sticker on the car though, the partnership is still very much there in the background.”
Both cars are expected to appear at Le Mans.
The formal entry list announcement for the ELMS, FIA WEC and Le Mans 24 Hours is set to take place in Paris Friday morning.
