FIA WEC: Silverstone, Pre-Race Paddock Notes

Bright sunshine with gathering high cloud provides a welcome contrast with the astonishing weather yesterday at Silverstone, there’s still a chill in the air though but with temperatures due to rise through the race, with just a chance of a late race shower.

The #51 Ferrari will start from the back of the grid after an engine change yesterday forced on the team by the mechanical woes that left the #51 unable to capitalise on James Calado’s Qualifying time, the car failing as Bruni stepped aboard. The car will also have to serve a 3 minute stop go (for the engine change).

Both Rebellions will start from the back of the grid too after qualifying woes.

Toyota confessed post qualifying that they had simply got the set up wrong for the very tricky conditions, the way that the TS050s were programmed in terms of power delivery and traction control leaving the drivers unable to attack the session.

The race will be green flagged by Patrick Dempsey, a very welcome returning face for the FIA WEC paddock this weekend.
