Garage 59 has confirmed that McLaren GT factory driver Côme Ledogar will replace Brit Craig Dolby in the #59 McLaren 650S GT3 for the Blancpain Sprint Cup round at Brands Hatch this weekend.
Ledogar, who was part of the winning Garage 59-effort at the Blancpain Endurance opener at Monza two weeks ago will share the car with Martin Plowman. While plans for Dolby’s return are unclear, the team hopes to welcome him back later this season.
“We are confident of a good result for the team this weekend,” said Garage 59 team manager Bas Leinders. “We have tested on this circuit and it suits our car well and the drivers we have in place are all more than competent to do the job. It is great to have Côme on board for this weekend after the team worked so well in Monza however, we hope to see Craig back in the car later in the season.”
The #59 car had a challenging weekend in the first round of the Sprint Cup at Misano last time out, finishing 35th and 26th in the two hour-long races.
