As DSC first reported last weekend, British sportscar racer Andy Meyrick has signed with Team Parker Racing to drive in the Total 24 Hours of Spa in its #24 Bentley Continental GT3.
Meyrick will make his fifth appearance in the sportscar racing endurance classic, joining team regulars Ian Loggie, Callum MacLeod and Tom Onslow-Cole behind the wheel of the Continental. The Cheshire ace has a great deal of experience with the Bentley, having driven for the factory works team from its inception in 2013 through last season.
He finished second in the Blancpain Endurance Championship in 2014 and 2015 and is vastly experienced with the intricacies of the car. He also is well-known to the Team Parker Racing squad, having coached its British GT drivers this season.
With over 60 expected entries, Meyrick knows the Spa 24 will require luck as well as skill and patience.
“The key to winning will be team work and avoiding issues with the large number of cars,” said Meyrick. “This is one of the toughest races in the world, on one of the truly fantastic circuits in the world. I know Team Parker well and I am looking forward to racing with them.”
The 68th edition of the Total 24 Hours of Spa takes place 30/31 July at the world famous 7.004-kilometre Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps located in the Belgian Ardennes countryside.
