The World Endurance Championship will return to the Nürburgring for a third season next year, with the series’ organisers confirming that it will take place on the weekend of the 14-16 July.
This comes after the two races since it made its debut on the WEC calendar last year have been extremely well attended. 62 thousand spectators turned out last year to see the first ACO sanctioned race at the famous German circuit since the Le Mans Series last held a 1000km race back in 2009.
This year the attendance figures for the race dipped to 58 thousand, though the weather during the weekend has been worse this year, with multiple showers and thunderstorms during the build up to race day.
The only other dates on the calendar confirmed to this point is the 6 Hours of Silverstone on the 16th of April and the Le Mans 24 Hours, which will run from the 17-18th of June.
