KEO Racing, a Danish team currently competing in the Formula Renault 2.0 North European Cup, has announced on its Facebook page that it will join the ELMS in 2017 in the LMP3 category with a Ligier JS P3.
The team announced its ELMS programme with a video on Youtube which you can find here:
The team, founded in 2004, has mostly spent its time running in Formula Renaults 2.0. It also raced in the Danish Touring Car Championship in 2015.
The team does have experience running a sportscar though. It tested drivers in a JS P3 in Barcelona andPaul Ricard over last winter. The ambition of the team is “to manage their drivers in Formula Renault 2.0 North European Cup and take them to higher formula series or sportscar series”.
Driving for the team in Formula Renault 2.0 is Dane Kasper Larsen. Larsen tested Graff’s JS P3 this past winter and was one of the three Danes selected in 2016 as part of a project called “The Danish Le Mans Project”, a project aiming at putting three fast Danes in a car at Le Mans.
The man behind the project is Kim Olsen, team manager of KEO Racing. The other Danes involved are Johan Jokinen and Frederik Mortensen.
