The #21 DragonSpeed Oreca of Henrik Hedman, Ben Hanley and Nicolas Lapierre set the pace in the weekend’s first free-practice session for the ELMS 4 Hours of Spa. The evening session was held in fine weather conditions and saw no major incidents save the familiar track-limits warnings and minor spins for a number of competitors.
Second-fastest in LMP2 was the #32 SMP Racing BR01, where Vitaly Petrov this weekend joins Stefano Coletti and Andreas Wirth. The Krohn Racing Ligier of Olivier Pla, Niclas Jonsson and Tracy Krohn made it three different chassis manufacturers in the top three.
Fastest in LMP3 was the #2 United Autosports car of Christian England, Mike Guasch and Alex Brundle, ahead of the Panis-Barthez and Yvan Muller Racing Ligiers.
Alessandro Pier Guidi put the AT Racing Ferrari shared with Alexander Talkanitsa Sr and Jr at the head of the GTE field, ahead of the JMW Ferrari and #77 and #88 Proton Competition Porsches.
