The #45 Manor Oreca 05 is back on the WEC entry list for the series’ upcoming trip to Fuji Speedway next month, confirming what team principal Graeme Lowdon told to DSC back in Mexico.
Driving the car, which last raced at the Nürburgring, will be Tor Graves, who has driven the #44 car for the Manor team this season, former F1 driver Shinji Nakano (who raced at Le Mans in LMP2 this year with Race Performance) and current Williams F1 test driver and WEC debutant Alex Lynn.
23-year-old Lynn joins the long list of young single-seaters drivers who have made the leap into the world of sportscars. Among his many achievements, he won the 2014 GP3 title, has scored multiple victories in GP2 over the past two seasons and tested a Toyota TS040 at the Bahrain Rookie Test back last year.
Endurance racing runs in the family though, as his dad (regular historic racer) Shaun Lynn raced at Le Mans with CRS back in 2011 during the team’s ILMC campaign alongside Roger Wills and Pierre Ehret.
Since then, Shaun has competed in the Le Mans Legends and Group C support races at the event.
