KCMG Porsche Drops To Third After Post-Race Penalty

Collard, Aguas and Perrodo on the precipice of the GTE Am title

The KCMG Porsche 911 RSR has been demoted to third place in GTE Am, after a post-race penalty for the contact with the #83 AF Corse Ferrari on the last lap of today’s 6 Hours of Shanghai when Filipe Albuquerque was coming through to lap the pair in the RGR Sport Ligier.

Wolf Henzler, who was driving the car at the end, Joel Camathias and Christian Ried crossed the line second, but with the 10-second penalty handed to them by the stewards the trio are now classified third, promoting the GTE Am championship-leading AF Corse 458 to second.

AF Corse’s Am drivers Rui Aguas, Francois Perrodo and Manu Collard are now 25 points ahead of the #98 Aston Martin’s trio in the points tally and just need to complete 70% distance in the Bahrain finale to win the title. Scoring the point for pole position prior to the race would also seal the title.
