Following the conclusion of the 2016 GT Cup season, Bute Motorsport, promoters of the GT Cup, has revealed the provisional 2017 calendar. The calendar will once again feature visits to three Grand Prix circuits as well as a trip to the legendary Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium.
The GT Cup has always tried to deliver what its competitors ask for and so we are very happy to announce a return to Spa in 2017. The big addition in 2017 is a trip to Spa, which will make it a 22-race calendar, starting with the GT Cup’s traditional first race at Donington Park in late April.
The championship will then make it’s first visit of the year to a Grand Prix circuit, taking in Brands Hatch in Kent before heading to Spa which replaces Rockingham for 2017. The calendar also features two visits to Snetterton in Norfolk, one in June and one to end the season in October, sandwiching visits to the Silverstone and Donington Park Grand Prix circuits.
The GT Cup will join with the Prototype Cup in headlining the race weekends and will run out of garages at all circuits. The race formats will remain unchanged with the exception of Spa.
