2017 looks set to be a busy year for RLR Sport. In addition to the team’s new for 2017 LMP2 Liger JS P217, bound for the ELMS the team also intends to campaign a pair of RLR- Mike Smith Ligier JS P3s for the season, one in the ELMS and the other in the newly expanded Michelin Le Mans Cup, for GT3 and now LMP3 machinery.
The Series will run alongside ELMS once again in 2017, with the exception of Silverstone and will once again include an additional 2 hour race on race morning of the Le Mans 24 Hours.
The Championship will run a 2 hour sprint race format for 2 drivers apiece in LMP3 and GT3 cars.
The new Series again offers significant prize money and an automatic entry into the ELMS for the following season.
“We are looking for outright wins in the Michelin Le Mans Cup,” commented Mike Smith.
Nick Reynolds, Team Principal, added “Whilst we have several irons in the fire we would like to settle the driver line up as soon as possible to enable testing to get underway”.
Nick will be on the Ligier UK stand at the Racing Car show in Birmingham in January on the Thursday and Friday and can be contacted on 0044 (0) 7711 888901 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org
