Porsche have, this morning, confirmed their full season driver pairings for the two car Porsche 911 RSR effort for the FIA World Endurance Championship.
The #91 Porsche will see 2015 Drivers Champion Richard Lietz join forces with Fred Makowiecki.
The sister #92 Porsche meanwhile sees 2017 Rolex 24 Hours class winner Michael Christensen paired with Kevin Estre.
The announcement confirms Kevin Estre’s first full WEC season, a return to the WEC for Makowiecki after a year in IMSA competition last season and a continued presence from 2016 for both Lietz and Christensen who have raced together for the past two seasons, 2017 will see then though in different cars.
“In the fight for the maiden GT World Championship title in the FIA WEC we’ve put together two strong driver pairings. And all four pilots come from the world’s best GT hotbed of talent, Porsche’s one-make race series,” says Head of Porsche Motorsport Dr Frank-Steffen Walliser.
