Alvaro Parente is set to return to the Le Mans 24 Hours this year in Clearwater Racing’s second GTE-Am Ferrari 488 GTE with Richard Wee and Hiroki Katoh.
“Le Mans is an amazing race with a unique ambience and it’s such a pleasure to be back,” the Portuguese PWC champion who last raced at La Sarthe in 2014 said. “It will be an amazing week and, as always, I’ll give my best to help the team to achieve a good result.
Parente needs little introduction after winning the 2016 Pirelli World Challenge title and Bathurst 12 Hour in 2016. Richard Wee meanwhile is a GT Asia regular who will make his debut at the race, and Katoh, who has a slew of Super GT experience, will be making his seventh Le Mans start this year.
Clearwater’s other car in the race is its full-season FIA WEC entry, with Matt Griffin, Kieta Sawa and Mok Weng Sun sharing driving duties.
The 2017 edition of the Le Mans 24 Hours will start at June 17th, but in the previous Wednesday the track action will start with the practice sessions and the Qualifyings.
