German outfit Zakspeed is set to field a pair of Mercedes AMG GT3s once again in the ADAC GT Masters series in 2017.
Driving the team’s AMG GT3s will be the un-changed pairing of Nikolaj Rogivue and Nicolai Sylvest and Luca Ludwig with new teammate Luca Stolz.
“As ever, only the title itself counts,” said Ludwig. “But as leader of the pack here, I’m also looking forward to working with the juniors.”
Stolz meanwhile has years of experience in ADAC GT and is pleased to be joining Zakspeed for the year.
“I am really happy to have been recruited by Zakspeed,” added the 21-year-old. “I’ve never driven for such a well-established team before. They’ve been putting in strong performances for several decades, and I’m confident that we can build on that record.”
Rogivue and Sylvest made a favourable impression as newcomers to the Super Sports Car League in the 2016 season. The duo not only scored two wins in the junior championship, but also managed two overall podium finishes.
“I think we make a very good driver pairing,” said Rogivue. “We both come into this year with more experience behind us.” Team-mate Sylvest is looking forward to appearing again for Zakspeed: “Zakspeed is a team that I really like competing for. The people there and the way they work together – it’s an honour to be a part of it. ”
The first round of the 2017 ADAC GT Masters season is set to take place at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben from 28-30 of April.
