British GT3 team Barwell Motorsport has announced that it will compete in the International GT Open rounds at Silverstone and Barcelona in September and October.
The team, which is a regular in the British GT Championship and Blancpain Endurance Cup, has opted to join the series, as both rounds don’t clash with its full-season commitments.
“We are keen to try and carry this outstanding form into the International GT Open series this season, with an eye on launching a full-championship assault in this arena in 2018,” the team – which currently leads the British GT GT3 standings and sits second in the Blancpain Endurance Cup Pro/Am class – has revealed.
Chris Needell, the team’s commercial director, confirmed to DSC that the team is targeting a two-car effort at both rounds.
Drivers for the Silverstone and Barcelona outings are set to be announced in due course, Needell telling DSC that there’s plenty of interesting from multiple parties, with discussions ongoing.
