New TVR Griffith Unveiled

What racing awaits?

The long awaited reappearance of the TVR marque took a big step forward at the Goodwood Revival yesterday with the formal unveiling of the new TVR Griffith.

Designed by Gordon Murray the dry sumped 5 litre Cosworth V8 engined GT car (with a droptop version to follow) features ground effect aero and a custom designed 6 speed manual ‘box.

Whilst no details were given of competition plans at the launch, previous interviews with project principals have made clear the likelihood for a return to a one make race series, akin to the much loved TVR Tuscan Challenge of the late 90s and early noughties, with a return to Le Mans also trailed as being on the short-term plan.

A GTE version of the car would be a welcome addition to the current list of takers, and let’s take a moment to remember the last Gordon Murray road car design to go racing!
