RJN Motorsport has withdrawn its pair of Nissan GT-R GT3s from the inaugural California 8 Hours next week, after the team missed the shipping deadline to get the cars to Laguna Seca.
NISMO announced on twitter that this is due to the damage sustained to the #22 during the Blancpain GT Series finale at Barcelona this past weekend.
The car was rear-ended during Struan Moore’s stint in the opening portion of the race, damaging the oil cooler and floor, which resulted in a gearbox issue that forced the team to do a full change. The car was eventually retired.

This leaves the entry list for next weekend’s race at 20 cars, with seven manufacturers now represented. The eight-hour endurance race at Laguna Seca is the final round of the 2017 SRO Intercontinental GT Challenge.
