New Ginetta G60-LT-P1 Nears Completion

First shakedown due immediately after Christmas break

The first Ginetta LMP1 is close to completion in Ginetta’s Garforth factory with DSC able to exclusively reveal today that the car is set to be named the G60-LT-P1 in recognition of Ginetta’s 60th Anniversary in 2018.

The new LMP1 car will be launched officially at the Racing Car Show at the NEC Birmingham on 11 January at 11 am with the final touches, and a first shakedown run, due to take place after the Ginetta LMP1 team have a few richly deserved days off over the Christmas period.

With the major components for the car coming together rapidly the Ginetta crew were joined in the days before the Christmas break by a number of the TRS Racing/ Manor crew, learning hat makes their 2018/ 19 weapon tick and helping to get the package ready to hit the ground running in the early New Year.

The DSC Ed has seen the car in build and it looks simply stunning – OK I’m a sucker for bare carbon but the detailing on the car show very clearly that this is a serious piece of kit – just a few days more and we’ll start to see whether the promise shown at the design and simulation stages is going to be translated to performance on track too.
