Host Of Surprises For GT Entry For Roar Test

21 GTDs, 9 GTLMs

The GT classes for the Roar Before the Rolex 24 Hours have thrown up the usual round of surprises, in the main in the GTD class.

The GTLM class sees the Risi Competitizione team confirmed with only factory Ferrari driver Alessandro Pier Guidi currently named in the #62 Ferrari 488 GTE.

The team does though have a second car on the entry, a GT3 spec car in GTD as the #82 car for the currently all Mexican crew of Ricardo Perez de Lara, Martin Fuentes and Santiago Creel.

The AF Corse-operated Spirit of Race adds another GTD Ferrari 488 for the rather surprising line-up of Paul Dalla Lana, Pedro Lamy, Mathias Lauda and Daniel Serra – that raises an eyebrow or two!

Scuderia Corsa’s pair of Ferraris sees Gunnar Jeannette join the already confirmed Cooper MacNeil, Alessandro Balzana and Jeff Segal in the #63 car, the sister #64 has Factory driver Sam Biord alongside Townsend Bell, Bill Sweedler and Frankie Montecalvo.

A second 3GT Lexus FC-F GT3 is named with an all TBD crew alongside the already announced #15 combo of Jack Hawksworth, David Heinemeier Hansson and Scott Pruett.

In the Mercedes AMG GT3 ranks the rumoured P1 Motorsports NAEC effort emerges as the #71 car for all Silver ranked line-up Kenton Koch, Loris Spinelli, Robert Foley III and JC Perez. It features a somewhat eye-catching Andy Blackmore livery design!

Luca Stolz and Adam Christodoulou join Ben Keating and Jeroen Bleekemolen in the returning #33 Riley entered AMG whilst the Sun Energy1 entered car sees Maro Engel and Thomas Jaeger joining Kenny Habul in the #75.

There’s a trio of Lamborghini Huracans listed, the #48 Paul Miller Racing car has Andrea Caldarelli listed together with Bryan Sellers, Bryce Miller and Madison Snow whilst GRT Grasser Racing Team bring a pair of cars for the test for Rolf Ineichen and Mirko Bortolotti (#11) and Ezequiel Perez Companc, Christian Engelhart and Christopher Lenz (#19).

Audi is represented by a pair of R8 LMS GT3s, the already announced #29 Montaplast by Land Motorsport entry for Sheldon van der Linde, Christopher Mies and Jeffrey Schmidt joined by a welcome return for the Magnus Racing crew of Jon Potter and Andy Lally together with Andrew Davis and Markus Winkelhock.

The expected trio of Acura NSX GT3s are listed too with the NAEC only #69 HART effort for Chad Gilsinger,John Falb, Ryan Eversley and Sean Rayhall joining the pair of Michael Shank Racing cars: #86 for Katherine Legge, Trent Hindman and AJ Allmendinger and the #93 for Justin Marks, Lawson Aschenbach and Mario Farnbacher.

Turner Motorports turn up on the entry once again with a solo BW M6 GT3 with only Jens Klingmann currently listed.

Finally there’s a trio of Porsche 911 GT3R’s entered: The recently confirmed #58 Wright Motorsports entry sees Pat Long and Christina Nielsen teamed with Mathieu Jaminet and Robert Renauer in a very powerful looking squad.

Joerg Bergmeister, Patrick Lindsey and Tim Pappas combine in the #73 Park Place Motorsports car and Manthey Racing bring a solo effort as the #59 car for Steve Smith and Harald Proczyk supported by Porsche youngsters Sven Muller and Matteo Cairoli!
