GT4 News Notebook, Audi R8 LMS GT4 Deliveries & New Entrants In SRO’s FFSA GT4 France Series

New Cars, New Teams

First Audi R8 LMS GT4 Deliveries to Privateers

12 Audi R8 LMS GT4 were recently delivered to several privateer teams. Audi only revealed the names of two owners: Team Bourguignon from the Netherlands and Phoenix Racing from Germany. Both teams acquired two cars. The eight other Audis were shipped to North America (five cars), Asia (two cars) and Australia (one car).

“A new project always symbolises new beginnings. The first deliveries mark a special moment for our customers as well as for us. We wish the teams the best of success with the new Audi R8 LMS GT4,” said Chris Reinke, Head of Audi Sport customer racing.

The Audi delivers up to 495 hp and is directly derived from the production model (60 percent of the car is common with the road car). Audi tested the R8 LMS GT4 this year at the 24-hour race at Nürburgring and in the VLN Endurance Championship.

Phoenix Racing will compete in the Dubai 24 Hours with its two cars next January, while Team Bourguignon is expected to compete in SRO’s GT4 Belgium Series.

Team Foxo from France will enter a Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR in the AM category of the FFSA GT4 France Series. Team Foxo is a two-year-old team based in central France (Tours). Last season, the team raced with Porsches in various French competitions, such as the 500 Nocturnes, the TTE 6 Hours of Le Mans and the Porsche Motorsport’s BRM Sport Cup.

Motors Formula Team recently acquired a McLaren 570s GT4, which they intend to enter next season in the FFSA GT4 France Series. Motors Formula Team is based in Mauritius and has always sought to promote drivers from this location. The team has previously competed in the VdeV Formula Renault 2.0 Series.
