News from friends of James Winslow that an effort has begun to support James with medical expenses after his horrendous accident at Las Marina durning the Gulf 12 Hours last month.
His Graff Racing Ligier JS P3 lost all braking at 240 KPH, a rear brake line apparently failing, James explaining that this in turn saw the brake balance bar jam up and rob him of front braking too, he managed to scrub off some speed but still hit the tyre barrier at 160-180 kph, huge deceleration and a catalogue of injuries including:
Two fractured vertebrae
Post trauma vertigo
The current advice is that there is a bare minimum of 3 months recovery ahead for James and, unfortunately, he does not have insurance and has already incurred substantial medical expenses.
In addition, the injuries will prevent James from earning income to pay for his medical care, rehabilitation, and daily living expenses for quite some time.
A fundraising effort has begun and is gathering momentum and you can help by contributing here >> James Winslow Funding Page
