DragonSpeed has announced that Dutch racer Renger van der Zande will race with it in its 2018/19 FIA WEC ‘Super Season’ LMP1 campaign.
For the effort, he’ll race alongside previously-announced drivers Ben Hanley and Henrik Hedman in the team’s BR1 Gibson.

Hanley and Hedman raced with the team last year in the team’s LMP2 ELMS and Le Mans effort, while van der Zande last raced with the team in the Prototype Challenge class of the ALMS back in 2013.
This will be van der Zande’s first LMP1 debut, adding to his full-season IMSA campaign with Wayne Taylor Racing’s Cadillac DPi V.R. Because of his US commitments, DragonSpeed has confirmed that it will be announcing a ‘Super Sub’ for the WEC season opener at Spa, which clashes with the IMSA round at Mid-Ohio.
