Czech GT team ISR is set to move to the ADAC GT Masters series in 2018, after competing in the Blancpain GT Series since 2014.
For the team’s debut campaign in the German national series, the team will race with an R8 LMS GT3 for Audi Sport driver Frank Stippler and Filip Salaquarda, son of team principal Igor. The team will aim to hit the ground running, after four years spent racing in both the Blancpain Endurance and Sprint Cup championships as an Audi customer team.
“It’s very exciting for our outfit to be competing in the ADAC GT Masters in 2018,” said team boss Igor Salaquarda. “The Audi R8 LMS is an exceptional car, and our two drivers are very experienced. We will have to face the challenge of unknown circuits together with very strong rivals, but we are motivated not to waste any opportunity and to show our speed right from the beginning of the season.”
Team ISR is one of five new teams joining the ADAC GT Masters in 2018, the others being AutoArena Motorsport, EFP by TECE, Honda Racing and Team Ring Police.
There’s no official word yet wether the team will continue to race in the Blancpain GT Series in parallel with its new GT Masters effort.
