Aston Martin customer team R-Motorsport has received confirmation that its win at the Blancpain Endurance Cup round at Silverstone will stand.
Its #76 Aston Martin Vantage of Jake Dennis, Nicki Thiim and Matthieu Vaxiviere started the Silverstone race from pole position following the team’s appeal of the Stewards’ decision to exclude the car from the qualifying results for a breach of the sporting regulations. Following the session, the car’s data-logger was found to have no data present, a breach of Article 89.
The team then went on to win the race (its first in Blancpain competition), and following a hearing in front of the RACB Sport National Court of Appeal, has been allowed to keep it.
Dr. Florian Kamelger, R-Motorsport’s team principal said: “We are extremely glad that the superb victory of our car #76 has been retained. We are now looking forward to the 24-hour race at Spa- Francorchamps, the highlight of our season.”
