Alpine Confirmed As Le Mans LMP2 Winner

Final result now available

The FIA International Court of Appeal has made its ruling on the result of the 2018 Le Mans 24 Hours classification.

Signatech Alpine Matmut has been confirmed as the LMP2 class winner following G-Drive Racing/TDS Racing’s post-race disqualification and subsequent appeal.

The final result shows the #26 G-Drive Racing ORECA 07 Gibson (originally 1st in class) and the #28 TDS Racing ORECA as disqualified.

The #36 Alpine A470 is the winner, with the #39 GRAFF ORECA second and the #32 United Autosports Ligier JSP217 third.

Richard Dean, co-owner of United Autosports says he’s incredibly proud of his team’s efforts in the race, with the podium finish for his #32 Ligier confirmed:

“It’s amazing that in only our second attempt we come away from the biggest race in the world with a podium finish. As incredible as that is, I have every faith in our drivers and team that we can fight for those positions amongst some of the best drivers and teams in the world of endurance racing.

“I’m very proud of Will (Owen, Hugo (De Sadeleer), Juan (Pablo Montoya) and the whole team for this result. Phil, Paul and Filipe had a tough race, but this shows they too could have been fighting for podium positons. I can’t wait to hopefully return next year and go a couple of spots better.”
