The Fuji-based Car Guy team will join the Asian Le Mans Series for a full-season effort with their Ferrari 488 GT3 with 2017 Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia Champion Kei Cozzolino and team founder Takeshi Kimura joined by 2017 FIA WEC World Champion James Calado for the Chinese and Japanese rounds.
The 2018/19 Series gets underway in two weeks time at Shanghai International Circuit.
Takeshi Kimura: “Car Guy racing is extremely pleased to announce the participation in the Asian Le Mans series 2018/2019 in the GT class.
“The reason we are racing in the Series is because I have always dreamed of racing with a Ferrari 488 GT3 internationally and go to Le Mans.
“Our goal is not to participate in the Le Mans 24 Hours, but to WIN in the Le Mans 24 Hours and I believe we can do so with our strong driver line up and support from Ferrari S.p.A.”
Car Guy’s recent history has seen entries in Super Taikyu, Blancpain GT Asia (with a Lamborghini), and in the 2018 Super GT Championship with a Honda NSX GT3.
