The 2019 Super GT Championship looks set to return to an English-language streaming service in the near future with Motorsport Network insisting on exclusivity, freezing out previous service supplier Grand Central.
DSC believes that Grand Central had an initial outline agreement for a non-exclusive free to view service which looked set to again feature Sam Collins and Rob Barff in presenting roles.
The same company previously supplied the streamed product to NISMO TV, transferring to their own LetsGoRacing service after Nissan funding was withdrawn at the end of the 2018 season.
No viewing figures for the ‘Motorsport TV’ product are available, this the purely online service that continued after Motorsport TV, the company’s TV Channel (previously operated under the Motors TV banner) closed at the end of September last year with little notice for its Miami based broadcasting staff and leaving many contributors substantially out of pocket.
The race broadcasts on NISMO TV drew in a growing audience in the recent past with viewer numbers well into six figures.
