This evening saw the official launch party for the 2019 Le Mans 24 Hours with several snippets of interest revealed.
Amongst the news from the evening:
United Autosports will occupy the two recently announced temporary pits;
The 2019 race will be started officially by a woman, identity to be revealed in the coming days;
As part of Bentley’s centennial celebrations, a street in the city of Le Mans will be renamed, permanently, as the Street of The Bentley Boys ‘Rue des Bentley Boys’;
Le Mans 66, Ford vs Ferrari, the Movie, currently in post-production will be released globally in November.
As part of the production, the Le Mans pit lane was recreated in 1:1 scale in Colorado. It is possible that this set might end up in a Musee des 24h exhibition;
A BMW exhibition ‘L’art et La Victoire’ will start at the end of May and run through to October.
Hervé Poulain, Marcel Mignot and Yannick Dalmas will sponsor the event. There will be several Le Mans art cars on display. Mignot drove the BMW Le Mans art cars in 1977 and 1979.
