The #22 Jenson Team Rocket RJN Honda NSX GT3 Evo’s driver crew for next month’s Spa 24 Hours has been confirmed today by the team.
Regular team drivers Philipp Frommenwiler and Matt McMurry will be re-joined by Struan Moore who was part of the line-up for the opening rounds of the Endurance Cup season at Monza & Silverstone and the new addition, former GT Academy Winner, Ricardo Sanchez.
Mexican Sanchez is a familiar face to the RJN Team having driven for them in the Blancpain GT Series for two seasons as part of the GT Academy. Moore meanwhile, is back racing in the seat filled last time out at Paul Ricard by Ryan Ratcliffe. Ratcliffe will take part in the Spa 24 Hours, confirmed as part of Team Parker Racing’s line-up.
“I’m really pleased with the line-up we have going into the Spa 24 Hours,” said team manager Bob Neville.
“Of course it’s great to have Struan back in the car, which was always part of the plan so we have three drivers now familiar with the Honda NSX. We welcome back Ricardo to the team and whilst he is yet to drive the car, we know that he will settle straight in and his previous experience of the 24 Hours of Spa will be really important in such a tough race.
“The Spa 24 Hours is a massive race and it’s great to have Ricardo Sanchez back in the Team for this event having been such a familiar part of the RJN Team over recent seasons. We’ve got a great group of four drivers with a balance of youth and experience which is always critical for any 24 Hour race’ commented Jenson Button.”
Before race week, the team will be on track next week for the Official Spa 24 Hours test days on 2nd & 3rd July.
