French LMP team GRAFF has announced that it will compete in the 2019/20 Asian Le Mans Series season with a pair of Norma M30s in the LMP3 class.
“We are delighted to join the Asian Le Mans Series championship. Most of the drivers wish to complete their European programmes by competing over the winter,” said Pascal Rauturier team manager.
“The Asian Le Mans Series championship meets this need through the quality of the selected circuits and through its organisation.
“Sporting goals will be ambitious, we will seek to win the LMP3 title so that we can get an invitation for the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2020.
“For that, we have faith in the manufacturer Norma with the Norma M30 and in the well-experienced race driver: Eric Trouillet. We have to complete the driver line up by selecting one or two silver race drivers.
“We will sign up a second Norma M30, driver Sébastien Page will be going on the trip as well.
“Our commitment to this Asian programme is part of a strategic approach of developing the team’s activities internationally because we wish to be part of the WEC championship for the 2020-2021 season.”
Eric Trouillet says he is excited by the prospect of taking on the Asian Le Mans Series.
“Discovering new circuits is always thrilling, driving a prototype during winter in the sun, is very enjoyable, especially as the LMP3 regulation in the Asian Le Mans Series allows bronze drivers to have a chance at winning races.”
