Former Ford FIA WEC driver and triple WTCC champion Andy Priaulx will race in the upcoming British GT Championship meeting at Spa in Multimatic’s #19 Ford Mustang GT4.
He will, therefore, race against his son Seb who is challenging for the 2019 GT4 Drivers’ title with Scott Maxwell in the team’s #15 Mustang.
In the #19 Mustang, Priaulx will race alongside Sir Chris Hoy, who returns to the team after making a strong debut at Donington Park last month.
“It’s going to be really nice to race in the same team as Seb,” said Andy Priaulx. “It’ll be strange to have to race against him and I’m not sure who will come out on top.
“Seb hasn’t been to Spa before and I’m conscious that he’s leading the championship with Scott (Maxwell) so I want to make sure I can contribute to that but I’m not going to make it easy either. I’m going to give it a good go. I don’t want to go there and be slow.”
Although this is Seb’s first time at Spa, Andy has raced there many times. During the WEC Super Season of 2018-19, there were two races at Spa and Andy took pole position both times along with his full-season teammate Harry Tincknell.
