United Autosports has confirmed that it will enter two Ligier JS P3s into the ninth running of the Gulf 12 Hours in December.
Should it be granted entries, this year’s race will mark the team’s fifth Gulf 12 appearance at Yas Marina and its third with LMP3s.
Richard Meins, Jim McGuire and Shaun Lynn, who won their class last time the team competed at Yas Maria, are confirmed for the team’s first Ligier; the second car’s line up is still to be agreed.
“It’s great to be back with United Autosport for the Gulf 12 Hour race for the third time,” Richard Meins, driver, United Autosports. “I’ve really missed being part of the United family this year so when the opportunity came to partner up with Jim and Shaun again and to race in the December sunshine at Abu Dhabi how could I refuse?
“The Dream Team is back together and we are hoping for another podium and having a lot of fun in the process.”
Richard Dean, Team Owner and Managing Director, United Autosports added: “The Gulf 12 Hours is a great event and Richard, Jim and Shaun go well there.
“They have all had a lot more track time in the LMP3 car since they last raced in Abu Dhabi with us in 2017 so fingers crossed they will get a good result again here. The second car is still to be filled but we are looking forward to returning to the event again.”
Earlier today DSC published the first list of invited teams which included a selection from the GT3 and GT4 classes. The Cup and Prototype class invites are set to be revealed later this month.
