RLR MSport has rounded out its line-up for this weekend’s European Le Mans Series race at Silverstone, confirming Frenchman Matthieu Vaxivière as the third driver for its ORECA, alongside Arjun Maini and John Farano.
The call-up for the 24-year-old sees him filling a vacancy created by Bruno Senna’s absence from Silverstone’s ELMS paddock, as the Brazilian focuses on his WEC commitments in the #1 Rebellion R-13.
This will be Vaxivière’s first ELMS race of 2019, after a partial schedule with Racing Engineering and TDS in 2018.
The Frenchman commented: “I’m feeling great about being here at Silverstone with RLR MSport. My first impressions of the team are very good, I love driving an LMP2 car on this circuit and I also enjoy working with Bronze drivers, so I expect to enjoy this weekend. With [co-drivers] Arjun and John, who is already one of the best Bronze drivers out there, we have a lot of potential.”
RLR MSport Director of Motorsport Operations, Nick Reynolds, added: “It’s a pleasure to welcome another very talented young driver for our home race. Matthieu has a great record in sportscar racing and he will be an asset while Bruno (Senna) concentrates on his FIA World Endurance Championship commitments.
“We’ve made progress with our LMP2 programme since the start of the year and we just have to focus on continuing that this weekend.”
