With the IMSA Weathertech Sportscar Championship in a race week for Laguna Seca it seems that the Multimatic Roladex has been in high demand, ex-Ford WEC drivers Andy Priaulx, Stefan Mücke and Olivier Pla are understood to have been involved with Oliver Jarvis and Harrison Newey also believed to have driven.
Driver selection for the test is understood to have focused on availability, and not on prospects for selection for the race squad.

The test is a clear statement of intent to develop the Mazda DPi package to be a more reliable endurance prospect in a season that has seen the factory-backed team in the USA breakthrough into winning form in sprint races ahead of both the season-ending Petit Le Mans and a 2020 season that could yet see an expansion in the number of Mazdas on the IMSA grid.
