Steller Motorsport will add to their on-track campaign at this weekend’s Donington Park British GT Championship finale with an off-track statement of intent about their 2020 Championship plans.
The team will be looking to add to the race-winning record of their new for 2019 Audi R8 LMS GT4 but are already planning their 2020 campaign with a move up to the GT3 class very much in their sights.
Audi Sport Customer Racing has provided the team with a brand new 2019 spec. Audi R8 LMS GT3 car which will be on display in the paddock. The team hoping to add further interest in an already encouraging response to their planned move up to the premier class in the Championship.
“We’ve been delighted with the support from Audi Sport Customer Racing this season,” said Team Principal Gary Blackham.
“We have already been investigating the potential for stepping up with Audi to GT3 next season and have had some very positive interest. Now we are going to show the car at Donington to allow those who have already spoken to us, and any other interested parties, to get a close look at what is one of the most successful GT3 cars currently out there.”
Steller is currently evaluating a multi-car effort for 2020 with at least 2 cars, potentially across both GT3 and GT4.
“I’ll be delighted to walk people around the car at Donington and to answer any questions they have. It’s a very good package with excellent running costs.
