Canadian driver Paul Dalla Lana will not participate in the 2020 Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona, Aston Martin has revealed in a statement today.
Dalla Lana will not turn laps at this weekend’s Roar Test and miss the race later this month, “after picking up a minor injury while skiing.”
“The Canadian will return to action for the Lone Star Le Mans round of this year’s FIA WEC at CoTA on February 22-23,” the statement continues.
“An announcement will be made regarding Aston Martin Racing’s participation in the event in due course.”
The original plan was for Dalla Lana to compete at the Rolex 24 with Ross Gunn, one of his current WEC GTE Am teammates and his former Am co-drivers Mathias Lauda and Pedro Lamy (featured alongside Dalla Lana above).
Dalla Lana also told DSC late last year that he was considering competing at the Bathurst 12 Hour the weekend after Rolex after the WEC race at Sao Paulo was cancelled.
The Aston Martin Racing Vantage GT3 did not turn laps during the first day of testing at the Roar Before The 24 yesterday.
Should the AMR Vantage not take part in the Rolex 24, Aston Martin would still have a presence in the GTD class with the new Vantage, as a second example has been entered by the Heart of Racing Team.
