Gary Khor: Asian Le Mans Series Mourn Sudden Passing Of One Of Their Own

News reached us yesterday of the sudden passing of Gary Khor, a key member of the Asian Le Mans Series ‘family’ in the days that followed the season finale at Buriram.

With Gary’s family now informed the Series has released the following statement:

“It is with huge sadness that we must announce the passing of our dear friend Gary Khor.

“Gary was an extremely valued member of the Asian Le Mans Series organisation team who always had a smile on his face. We have lost not only a great colleague but also a very dear friend.

“A highly experienced motorsport organiser, Gary joined the Series in 2017. Working closely with our event management team, he played an important role in ensuring the events ran smoothly, no request was too big for him.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, his friends and of course our whole Asian Le Mans Series family. We will miss him greatly.

“Rest in peace Gary.

“There will be an opportunity to pay respect to Gary at the Kaew Jam Fa Temple in Bangkok tomorrow (Tuesday 3rd March), at 11 am before his cremation later that morning. Please contact if you wish to attend.”

Gary was a much-loved part of the close-knit Malaysian motorsport community who worked with teams and Series to pass on his experience, ‘can-do’ attitude and general willingness to make things better and easier.

He was a truly gentle soul, his passing will leave a hole that is difficult to fill, one of those people that you truly realise how important their contribution was only when they are gone.

I know that I, and all of my friends in the Series organisation, the Asian Le Mans Series Paddock, and far beyond are saddened greatly by the news of his passing.

My sincerest condolences to his family and many, many friends in the sport and beyond.
