Jota Sport has confirmed that they have entered a single ORECA 07 Gibson for next month’s ELMS race at Spa Francorchamps.
Regular FIA WEC pair Anthony Davidson and Roberto Gonzales will be joined by Jake Dennis, the R-Motorsport driver currently somewhat under-employed after the team opted to sit out the 2020 season.
Dennis raced for Jota aboard the G-Drive Racing branded Gibson 015S in 2016 at Spa and Le Mans alongside Simon Dolan and Giedo van der Garde.
“The race gives the drivers a little more track time ahead of the WEC race the following weekend,” said Team Principal Sam Hignett to DSC today, “It’s great to have Jake aboard again, he’s filling in for Antonio Felix da Costa who is on Formula E duty that weekend.”
Dennis meanwhile passed on his thanks to R-Motorsport for permitting him to race:
“To participate in the Spa-Francorchamps ELMS round with Jota Sport’s LMP2 car is a welcome opportunity for me to stay sharp as a race driver in a year when the coronavirus crisis prevents me from racing with R-Motorsport in GT3.
“I want to than R-Motorsport Team Principal Florian Kamelger for giving me the opportunity to race in this one event.”
